My Coach
Boccia is a sport that requires strategy and numerous hours of training. The coach, as in other sports too, plays one of the main roles, since the tactics that will be chosen for each game, in conjunction with the appropriate preparation can judge the result of the games.
My coach, Mr. George Tzimas, whom I met in 1993 in a summer camp organized by a charity organization called “Aghios Christoforos”, was the first person that talked to me about Boccia. It was the summer of 2001 when Mr. Tzimas suggested that I should start playing Boccia. Until then I didn’t know that there was any sport I could play due to my disability. That day, he also shared with me the idea of founding a sports club together with other persons with similar disabilities that we knew from the “Aghios Christoforos”, in which I was also a member.
Since that moment, we have been together in lots of difficulties, but in lots of “cheers” as well, and he is always with me in my every attempt for improvement.
The experiences that I have shared with him for so many years, make me feel blessed to have him not only as my coach, but also as one of my dearest friends.
